Terms of use

Effective 7 October 2026. These terms explain our service and the responsibilities of advertisers and visitors.

Today’s Big Deal is a directory and paid promotion platform operated by Allan Tumuhimbise. Advertisers provide their own information. Buyers contact and transact with advertisers directly.

Our roleAdvertiser responsibilitiesBuyer safetyFees and positionsReports and removalPayment problemsYour rights

1. What our service does

We give people a public page to promote a business, service, product, account, podcast or other lawful work. Our checkout collects listing and position fees for that promotional service. We do not collect payments for advertisers’ products, hold buyers’ money in escrow, arrange delivery or become a party to a purchase between a visitor and an advertiser.

A listing, paid position, medal or Founding 100 badge does not mean we have verified the advertiser’s identity, stock, qualifications, licences, claims or ability to deliver. We do not check every listing before publication. Paying more buys placement, not a recommendation or a safety guarantee.

2. Advertisers must keep their information honest

Only promote a business, contact or account you own or are authorised to represent. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your listing, the rights to its photos and content, and any sale or service you arrange. Keep prices, availability, location and contact details current using your private management link.

Do not advertise products that do not exist, pretend to represent another person, make false claims, hide material charges or obtain money through deception. Where relevant, disclose your full price, delivery arrangements, return policy and any required qualifications or licences before accepting a customer’s payment. A listing fee does not remove these responsibilities.

Scams, impersonation, misleading claims, illegal goods, sexual content, harassment, hate, gambling, financial schemes and unauthorised disclosure of private information are prohibited. The community and payment rules also apply.

3. Check the business before paying

You are responsible for your own due diligence before contacting, buying from or sending money to an advertiser. Confirm who you are dealing with, whether the product or service exists, the full cost, delivery terms and refund arrangements. Independently check qualifications or licences where the work requires them.

Where possible, inspect goods or meet at an appropriate safe location before paying. Treat pressure to pay immediately, unusually low prices or a payment recipient who does not match the business as warning signs. Keep messages and transaction receipts. Never share your mobile money PIN, password or verification codes with an advertiser.

A high position, view count or link-click count does not establish trustworthiness. If something looks suspicious, do not pay and report the listing. These precautions do not remove an advertiser’s responsibility for fraud or our own responsibilities under applicable law.

4. What you pay for

The current one-time listing fee is UGX 10,000. It publishes your post after payment confirmation and gives it an initial position. A new post taking a chosen position pays the listing fee plus its position bid in one checkout. An already listed post pays only the new position bid. Review the total and the post being promoted before authorising payment.

To take a position, your bid must be at least UGX 5,000 above its current amount, in UGX 5,000 increments, subject to the displayed payment limit. A position bid is a new charge, not a credit or top-up of earlier payments. Positions can change as other people bid. A paid position is not permanent. The rules explain how simultaneous payments and reversals affect placement.

The listing fee is not a daily subscription. Your post can remain while the service operates, subject to these terms, removal requests and moderation. We do not promise permanent hosting, a minimum audience, enquiries, sales, search-engine indexing or recommendations by AI services. Activity figures are estimates, not verified buyers.

5. Reporting fraud and removing listings

Open the business’s public page and select “Report this feature”, or email [email protected]. Describe the problem and identify the public listing. For evidence that does not fit the report form, email screenshots, dates and payment references. Do not include PINs, passwords or private management links in a public report.

We review reports and may request clarification, hide or remove suspected fraudulent, misleading or otherwise prohibited content, and restrict further use where appropriate. We can remove a paid listing or the highest bidder. A report does not automatically prove wrongdoing or remove a listing, and we cannot guarantee that every abuse will be detected.

We respond to valid legal notices and lawful requests from authorities. If you have lost money, contact your payment provider promptly and report suspected crime to the relevant authorities. Our report process does not replace those steps. Advertisers can contact support with evidence to request a review of a removal.

6. Payment problems and disputes

Contact support with your reference if a platform fee was duplicated, charged incorrectly or the paid promotional service was not delivered. We investigate using our payment records and the provider’s confirmation. Removal for misuse, being outranked or receiving no enquiries does not by itself entitle you to a refund, subject to any rights you have under applicable law.

A purchase from an advertiser is a separate transaction. Product quality, delivery and purchase refunds are matters between the buyer and that advertiser. We can review the associated listing and act on misuse, but do not promise to recover or reimburse money paid directly to an advertiser.

7. Content, privacy and private links

You retain ownership of your content and give us permission to store, display and format it to operate and promote your listing, including public pages, share cards and directory features. Only submit content you have the right to share. You can request listing removal. Our privacy policy explains public information, payment records, analytics and retention.

Your management link permits editing without an account. Keep it private. We never ask you to enter your mobile money PIN on the site. Payment providers have their own terms and processes.

8. Responsibility and your legal rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for an advertiser’s statements, products, services or failure to deliver, or losses arising from a transaction arranged directly with that advertiser. Each advertiser remains responsible for their own conduct.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, removes mandatory consumer rights, excuses our own unlawful conduct or removes our duty to respond to a valid legal notice or court order. These terms do not guarantee immunity from claims or legal proceedings.

9. Updates and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes and will display the effective date here. Material changes to paid services will be communicated where practicable. Updated terms do not remove rights already acquired or allow us to retrospectively change a completed payment’s agreed price.

Ugandan law applies, subject to any mandatory rights or court jurisdiction that applies to you. For listing support, complaints, removal requests or legal notices, email [email protected]. You can save or print this page for your records.
